The Standards
- Cement: 400 Bags per 1,000 ft²
- Sand: 81.6 Ton per 1,000 ft²
- Steel: 4,000 Kg per 1,000 ft²
- Bricks: 8,000 Pcs per 1,000 ft²
- Aggregate: 1,350 ft³ per 1,000 ft²
- Paint: 2.5 Gallons per 1,000 ft² (2 coats)
Where They Come From
These are conservative Indian/South Asian residential norms popularized in field guides and cross-checked against RCC (reinforced concrete construction) practice. For North American wood-frame construction, expect lower cement/sand/aggregate and much lower brick counts.
How To Adjust
Option A — Adjust Area. If your regional standard says 300 bags cement per 1000 ft², enter 750 ft² for a 1000 ft² job. This is a rough proportional hack.
Option B — Manual Entry. The cleaner approach. Use the Manual Entry section in the Materials tab. Enter material name, exact quantity, unit, and unit price. Bypasses all standards.
